trouble establishing connection

Asked by joel

I've got two computers on my local network set up. The "helper" is "listening for connections" and the "helpee" is "connecting... computer found, assistant not listening". I checked "automatically manage firewall on one, none, and both computers. Any ideas?

Eventually the "helpee" machine is getting shipped across the country to my girlfriends mother and I'll be the only source of training & tech support. Thanks to all involved for developing this application. I would never be able to get her on-line with out it.

Problem resolved. I set up my router for port forwarding.
I was able to connect successfully once. On the second try I got a message about shared desktop being unavailable and got command line only. I set the helpee computer for shared desktop and on the third try was able to connect again.
