Redish-ish screen around midday

Asked by Pedro Francisco

It's now 12:36 (24h clock) and my screen is a bit reddish. Just a bit, but it is.

I've understood by now, that unlike x.flux, Redshift transitions during the whole day, but I'd assume at midday the screen would have no red shift at all. Am I wrong?

Installed from the PPA (Kubuntu 10.04).

The default daytime temperature is 5500K which is a bit more reddish than the neutral temperature of 6500K. Just like with f.lux you can set a different temperature for the daytime period. See "redshift -h" for information on setting the color temperature. The default color temperatures will also be listed when you run "redshift -h". Perhaps there should be a note somewhere that explains that 6500K is the neutral color temperature.

Ok, thanks! Works as intended with 6500K.

I would second this - "redshift -h" should definitely include this information.
