Is there a way to input entries from other software

Asked by Matthew Hitchcock on 2020-01-28

I've been using another Journal program that requires WINE in order to run on Linux. It seems like every few months something breaks WINE and I can't get my software to run so I'm looking for an alternative that won't be so frustrating.

Is there a way to import years of entries into RedNoteBook? If I get the old software to run one more time I can export in several different formats.

RedNotebook does not have built-in import functionality, but it uses a plain text format to store notes. That means you can use an external program to convert your files to the required format (YAML). See here for more information: https://github.com/jendrikseipp/rednotebook/issues/182
