How to edit config file in flatpak app

Asked by Pat Uelmen Huey

I like to have the tags pane open and have customarily edited the config file in ppa versions to accomplish that. I've just downloaded the flatpak version for the first time and cannot locate the config file to edit it; I found a reference to a different app that localizes the config file to the ~/.var directory but I don't see that in RedNotebook's file structure, i.e. ~/.var/app/app.rednotebook.Rednotebook/config does not contain the config file. Thanks for any help you can give!

The configuration.cfg file is created when RedNotebook starts, I
recommend searching system-wide for it. RedNotebook also reads a file
called default.cfg, which may be present in the flatpak. I also
recommend searching your system for it.
