Dark Theme for Windows

Asked by Omar Hebky

How difficult would it be to implement a dark theme for Windows?

In my Arch linux set up I have a dark system theme and RedNotebook mimics that theme, in Windows 7 I have a unofficial dark theme installedl, but RedNotebook does not hook into that.

Would it be difficult to add a dark theme or a way to hook into the system to mimic the current Windows theme, or at least include an option in settings for a dark theme? It is completely blinding going from a dark app to a completely white program.

I think it should be possible to use a dark theme on Windows by
replacing some style files in the RedNotebook installation directory.
The question is which files have to be replaced :-)

You could try to uncomment a theme name in etc/gtk-3.0/settings.ini .
There are some themes under share/themes/. Maybe you can add a dark
theme there.

It would be great if you could post here whether you could make it work
and how to do it.

Can you help with this problem?
