How to use hashtags in rednotebook

I have tried to read the manual but havent found how ot use in text hashtags. I have tried writting words with #test but the hashtag test doesnt appear in any panel, do they need to be enclosed in any particular symbol? or can someone point me to the proper documentation? thank you!
