RNB cannot open unzipped backups

Asked by gus.bonnewiitz

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS got very slow.
Upgraded to 16.04 LTS.
It would not allow my PPAs or apps that I wanted so, I went back to 14.04 LTS clean install.
I had been keeping backups of RNB.
I have done as instructed online and unzipped the backups into a folder, opened RNB selected Journal -> Open and the folder. RNB displays the files but; they are grayed out and I cannot select them to open.

You need to open the folder, not the files. Once you see the files,
select "Open" in the bottom right.

This is precisely what I have been doing all along. After selecting the directory, I have OK & Cancel buttons in the bottom right and the files are listed, but; greyed out and cannot be selected.
There is no button there to Open in the bottom right.

The button in the bottom right is actually named "OK". If that button is
not there, can you please send a screenshot?

When I went into the calendar to see if any of the backup files were there
and I found the files I was looking for.

The online directions might need updating
as this last step in finding the backed up files
was not there and it was not immediately obvious.

Thank you for your assistance
