finding old rednotebook files

Asked by dee

I have some rednotebook files - - - two sets actually, one from about a year ago and one from about a month ago. Trying to find these files in the previous hard drives so that I can meld them. Having a hard time finding them as I don't know what they were called.

Have files always been called .rednotebook or ???????

Thanking you for your assistance.

Try searching for 2015-07.txt, etc.

I spent quite a bit of time searching and then I found something that should also work for others.

1. Toggle your file manager so that hidden files are shown (normally not shown)
2. go to your 'base folder (/home/your user name or whatever it is on your particular system)
3. look for a folder called .rednotebook (the . before the folder name indicates that it is a hidden file (not normally shown))
4. inside the folder will be the information you are looking forward organized by month and year

Thanks for a great tool!!
