Turn off Shading for Indented Paragraphs?

Is it possible to turn off shading for indented paragraphs? I like to indent the the first line of each paragraph to show where ideas are separated, but then they get shaded and are not as easy to re-read. I'm not sure why the app is designed to shade when indents are used, but I would prefer that it didn't do this.

That is actually the highlighting for blockquotes. I can remove the
highlighting, but the result will still be a blockquote (produced by the
txt2tags markup) as can be seen in the preview mode.
