Word Count? Drop Images from Memory?

Is there a way to determine word count in a file or in a selection from a file? If not, that would be a great feature for writers.

Also, is there a way to copy/paste image files from memory into a file? If not, that would be a great feature as well.

Have a look at Journal->Statistics in the menu. There's no way to add
images from memory, you will have to save them to disk first.

Is it possible for statistics to also show word count in a selected group of paragraphs?

That's not possible currently, would be a nice feature though.
