1.8 minimized to the 'systray' and german language?

Asked by Tim

How I get the new version 1.8 minimized to the 'systray'?
I tried in configuration.cfg:

closeToTray=1

but after RN starts it switched to '0'.

And how I get RN to speak german?

I use LMDE (Linuxmint Debian Edition) with Mate 1.6.

TIA

Minimizing to the systray has been disabled for Linux since there is no
easy way of telling whether there *is* a systray. RedNotebook speaks
your system's language. If you change it, RedNotebook's language should
also change.

Thank you Jendrik, but... 😉
TG my Linux is speaking German with me.
So where can I tell RN too?
And with the info tray, you mean I have now to downgrade to use this feature on the last RN version?

I'm a long RN user, now a couple of years, so UK I'm a bit of 'unhappy'.
I will never use Gnome 3 or unity I will stay with Mate so I have my panels I like. 😊
so this don't solved my problem. 😑

Thanks a lot Jendrik

but you have a tip for me to get RedNotebook to speak German?

I think it depends on Debian.

Have a look at the "language" section in RedNotebook's integrated help.

I'd be glad to have the -m options returned as well, Jendrik. It's much easier to bring it up from the KDE tray than start it up and close it each and every time -- at the very least as a symbol.

I think there is an easy way to tell if there is a systray on a Linux system -- check the value of closeToTray in configuration.cfg. If I've set it to 1, then there is a systray to minimize to. If I set it to 1 when there isn't, that's *my* problem. :-)

Fair point. I'll try to restore the functionality as soon as time allows.
