Separate Journals?

I just want clarification. When I open RedNotebook and go Journal >> New.

What is the specific purpose for this? To create separate diaries? Like Health? Job? etc

Or did I misunderstand it?

To which of the two questions did the 'Yes' refer!
I have tried to open a separate Journal for a separate project, but cannot get past the error message telling me that the directory for the new journal must be empty! This is despite using a new empty folder for the new journal! I have given up at the moment because I have not got a clue how to move on!
