only 2 columns cannot tag anything

I used to have 3 columns, Ubuntu, now new computer, windows 8 - rednotebook 1.7.1 installed. Left column ok, previous edit/preview column but no right hand column so unable to tag words, Help please?
did not see anything to change on setup.

On the right corner there is a handle. You can drag it to the left and
get your right panel back.
