WISH: highlighting tag

Asked by Paddy

I am wondering if it would be possible to introduce a highligher tag that would make it possible to highlight words in a page in a similar way to the search function. But instead of showing words in a yellow background, it would be blue/green etc, perhaps a colour that is customizable. The tag would best work like the bold & italic tags, for example:

%%this is going to be highlighted%%

Having a highlighter tag would make the standard "black & white" journal alot more flexible :)

Well, for now you can use
''<font color="red">my text</font>''

Hi Jendrik,

Yes but that's is so ugly and and the FONT tag has been kicked out of HTML ages ago.

That's true. Maybe I will add a special color tag.

{my text|color:green} already works, but I don't know if this feature
will stay in its current form.

Didn't know that already worked, looks great! I would certainly keep that feature. My original question was actually about providing a way to colour the BACKGROUND of a certain text. Just like using a highlighter pen on paper.

Can you help with this problem?
