Get off my cloud

Asked by Allan

Just downloaded the app and am feeling my way around it.

Meanwhile the cloud is populated with the original words.

How do I remove them so that I can "start again"? And having done so, how do I populate (and continuously update) it with my input?

Thanks in advance.

The cloud only displays text that is in your journal, you should search
for the text you want to remove and navigate to the respective dates.

But ... the text in "my journal" emanates from the original download of the programme. And I would like to get rid of it. And I think if I just "hide" it, it means that, should I happen to enter the same word(s) it/they will be ignored.

Also, I have made a few trial journal entries and NONE of the words I entered got in to the cloud.

This is very frustrating. I love what looks to be the potential of this programme. But am totally unable/unaware of how to execute it.

Does no one know how the cloud content is generated and what goes in it? Supposedly every last word written or ...? I have generated many words and none of them are in the cloud.

But then that's adding to the cloud. I also want to remove the original stuff (from the programme download) but do not want to banish those words "forever".

Help with this would be most appreciated.

Only the words in the journal are used. Press Ctrl+F and search for the
word you want to remove. The day containing the word will be displayed.
Click on it and remove the contents you want to remove. The 42 most
frequent words will be displayed in the cloud.

I guess I must have missed the "42 most frequent words" somewhere. Wherever that is. And I guess that my "solve" my problem.

I'll hold off checking "Problem Solved" until I've verified. But will do so if that is the case.

Thank you for your response.

I just added the same word 100 times to a journal page.

It did NOT show up in the cloud.

I then closed down and re-opened the app.

And it is still not in the cloud.

Obviously I am REALLY missing something. Any idea what it is?

I have now (finally) discovered that the cloud only refreshes when it is closed and re-opened.

It would have been hugely helpful if that info was obvious somewhere. Saving you a bunch of time and me a bunch of frustration/aggravation.

Thank you anyway.

Either you have added a filter in the preferences, all words in the
cloud appear more than 100 times or there is a bug in the software. If
the first two reasons don't apply, please go to $HOME/.rednotebook
(C:\Docs or Users\username\.rednotebook on WIndows) and send me the
files rednotebook.log and the data dir in a zipfile.
