Open at a Specific Day

Is there any way to open RedNotebook at a specific day?

I'd like to open it at specific day from an external program (http://sourceforge.net/projects/viking), ideally something simple such as via a command line option.

It would be cool to link from my GPS tracks to my diary entry for that day.

That feature is planned, but not implemented yet.
