Cannot Update to 1.6.6 Through Terminal

I installed RedNotebook 1.4 through the Ubuntu Software Centre and when I check for updates it directs me to the webpage to download 1.6.6. I followed the Ubuntu instructions to add the repository and update through the terminal as they were written and it seemed to run but when I open the application it still tells me I am running 1.4 and should update to 1.6.6.
(P.s. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 right now.)

I've figured this out now (of course it was almost immediately after I posted the question). I uninstalled from the software centre and then added the repository, updated, and installed all again but all through the terminal this time and it's saying I've got the right version. I'm going to leave this up in case anyone else has the same problem while trying to update.
