Inline latex formulas not working in preview mode

Asked by Khoi Nguyen

Hi,

I am using Ubuntu and was using the version in the Ubuntu repositories until today. I now use the last stable version but inline latex equations don't work in preview mode (they did before). Equations between "$$" still work. Was it intended or is it a bug?

Also, would it be possible to be able to have multiple entries for the same day? I have to submit a work diary to my supervisor every week and wish to be able to separate what is mathematical from what is not.

Anyway, thanks for the great app.

The use of $formula$ is no longer supported, it led to too many false positives...

Multiple entries per day are not supported. You can use two journals instead.

What do you mean by false positives?

Text being interpreted like a latex formula whereas it isn't? Could you not change the way we use latex inline formulas? Like $$$formula$$$.

Thanks for your answer!

Exactly. For example "I bought shoes for 5$ and clothes for 6$" will
render as a formula. Therefore $formula$ has been replaced by
\(formula\). This is standard Latex syntax by the way, while $formula$
is Tex syntax.
