Will not open saved journal

Hi. I recently wiped my laptop to install the latest version of Mint Linux on it. I was keeping my Journal in a folder in Dropbox. I've now installed RedNotebook on Mint 14 and have synced Dropbox but I can't seem to get RNB to open my previous journal. THe only idication that anything happens is that a message appears at the bottom left of the window saying "Nothing to save". I'm using 1.4.0. Any ideas?

Please go to Journal->Open and select the folder that contains the
2012-12.txt etc. files. If that doesn't work, please post the logfile
from that was written during that operation from /home/username/.rednotebook

The acutal folder I selected to open was at /home/sokol99/Dropbox/Journal. I just tried manually entering the path but got the same result... I just opened the .cfg file and set the path to my Dropbox folder and that worked. But doesn't explain why I couldn't do it via the UI... Odd. :)
