Entry for quick event update with hash tags

Asked by aditya kappagantula

It will be wonderful if RedNote can support the following feature :

Click on tray icon,
Open a small notification box to right bottom
Enter text quickly.
Add any tags at the end of the text [Eg: Met my old friend in the local train !! Whatta pleasant surprise! #new #tag #auto #tags]
Hit enter.
Update saved to journal in Today page with the corresponding tags.

Advantage :

It can serve as a personal diary!
It helps everyone by stopping them from posting personal/private info openly on social networking sites in a spur of anger or joy.
It helps you express and save your short and spontaneous feelings quickly so that you can review them later.
At a later time you can search or produce a report showing which things bother you more frequently over various periods of time. This can be done based on the hash tags.
It will be an awesome personal diary and helps you introspect perfectly with no pain and doubts!!

A lock with password can be an additional feature to protect privacy.

Please consider including this :)

A nice idea indeed, Aditya, and a good offline "replacement" for
Twitter, with mu-u-uch more space!

I second this feature, and I hope it will not be too hard to implement
it. =)
And, by the way, is there a RedNotebook indicator applet for Ubuntu?
Right-click, choose "Add!", add note, press Tab, add tags (with a
dropdown menu?), press Enter, and voila:
 {
 I am a usual entry.

 -----------------------------------------

 = 13:05:27
 I have washed my head! YAAAAY!!!

}
And with tags (re-)attached to the day.

The thing is, probably both Indicator applet and Tray icon should work
this way (and tray should be remade this way both in Windows and Linux,
since, for example, Xubuntu still does not work well Indicator applet,
and many XFCE apps rely heavily on good old tray).

It depends on Jendrik, after all. But the idea is very and very good --
just the thing for a daily journal!

Nice idea, though I probably won't have time to work on this in the near
future. Could you please open a bugreport for this, so we don't lose
track of it? Maybe someone else wants to work on this.

Hi Jendrik,

I have opened a bug report for this feature.
I used the tag - Feature request.

I will look forward for the new feature.

Cheers
Aditya.

Hi again!

Please send the e-mail to Jendrik himself, personally. ;) This e-mail
address (that you have probably tried to send this invite to) is for
your question only, and only for that.
