Could be a font problem. Do you know a font that actually
displays Chinese characters?

Is there a way to change the font in RNB somehow, Jendrik?

On my system Arial Unicode displays it all...
So the question still stands, doesn't it?

Problem solved:

Find *Code2000 *font version 1.171 on the Internet and extract the font to
the

\PortableApps\RedNotebookPortable\App\Rednotebook\etc\fonts\font directory

Will cost you 8Mb but will show chinese characters.
