Export to PDF: Start each entry on a new page

Asked by Tobias Borgert

Thank you very much for RedNotebook.

Is it possible to force RedNotebook to start a new page with each to PDF exported day?

The amount of pictures in my entries make each day very long and sometimes a new day starts at the bottom of the page which is quite hard to read and for finding specific days in a print-out.

If this is not possible at the moment, I'd like to file a feature request :). Thank you!

Unfortunately this is not possible. The underlying webkit's print method
does not support this at the moment.

Jendrik: Would you like it to be added?

I *think* it could be done with a minor edit to the CSS template as descried here: http://www.htmlgoodies.com/beyond/css/article.php/3470341/CSS-and-Printing.htm#break

I think this would be a nice addition, but one we can probably live
without. If you want to investigate this and succeed, I would of course
merge your code. Unfortunately, I think achieving page-breaks is
currently not possible with webkit since I recall that it doesn't
correctly respect the page-break-{before,after} tag. I could be wrong
however ;) I think the first step would have to be to check if midori's
print function correctly uses the tag for a manually crafted example
html page. I am very interested in the results.

You are right,

I just tested it and webkit just ignores the page break tag.

:(

Can you help with this problem?
