tag input in text

Asked by Simon Gassner

hope this is the right place to ask...

is there a possibility to enter tags in the textframe? e.g. #tagXY
is there a possibility to add a due date, to track down Tasks?

i'm using rednotebook for my daily work as controller. So I'm in a lot of meetings, writting down notes and tasks. In my workflow it would be nice to manually enter the tags in the text . e.g.

#task describtion #todobyXY #duedate

thanx for the great tool

Good idea, I have already been thinking about adding inline tags like
#mytag. Your second usecase with duedates seems very specialized and I
don't know how to properly display the tasks in RedNotebook.

Of course you can always change to the duedate and add the tag "todo" or
"task" there, with the subtag <description>.

Hi I did but some heavy thinking into this... Maybe you can use the same technic like inline tags for addressing the calender. lets say @ 20110411#task<description>
This would have the advantage of not only geting the task at this day, but also knowing when the task was asigned.
Moreover you are just using the elements that already exist in the program and keep it nice and simple...

This is a nice idea, but it would make RedNotebook more complicated on
the interface and the code side. E.g. what happens if the task has been
added to the other day, but the shortcut is changed later on. The same
data is now present on two dates. Which one is the real thing?

If you need a task manager you should consider other options like
