Would be nice to have a HotKey combination to throw

separator onto the center panel. The separator line is the only 'template' I use. It's faster to reach for the mouse and add the template than to type the 20 '=', but would be faster still with a HotKey.

That's right, a shortcut would be nice. Which key do you recommend?

Ctrl+T (template) perhaps. I have adjusted all the 'daily' templates to be just a simple === bar.
or
Ctrl+B (break) for a default template which the user could customize.
