Keyboard Shortcut for adding tags

Asked by Trevor Hook

I used to be able to add a tag using the CTRL-T shortcut, in RedNotebook 1.3 the keyboard shortcut seems to have gone away.

Is that a deliberate decision or a bug?

And if it is a deliberate decision, is there a way for users to add their own keyboard shortcuts to the application?

Tags and categories are now the same. You can just use the Ctrl-N
shortcut and omit the category entry.

Ok, CTRL-N brings up the dialog correctly.

Is there a way to make it select the "Tags" category as the default selection in the top dropdown box rather than whatever happens to be the first category listed?

Erm, in the new version,
former categories are now TAGS
and category entries are now SUB-TAGS.

So instead of "Tags" category, just type in your tag!

The thing is, there is no easy way to alter the already existing tags to make them compliant with the new tagging system.

There's not and there's no need for you to use the "Tags" category
anymore if you don't want to. It doesn't have any special meaning
anymore. Think of category names as tags now :)

OK, I think I understand.

Assume that means you can't use the tag cloud now as well, just a word cloud?

The two clouds have been unified. Tags are underlined.

Can you help with this problem?
