Setting Language for Portable Version

Asked by Edward Teo

How do you set the interface language for portable version without making system variables?

My office PC is running Japanese WinXP but I would like the interface to be in English.

Have a look at the Help document (Ctrl+H). If you set the system
variable LANGUAGE only RedNotebook will be in English.

Well, you could try running RedNotebook from the command line and set a
temporary environment variable there before launching the app. I have no
idea how that works on windows though.

setting LANGUAGE in Windows flips the locale so that the menu is now in Japanese BUT the bugs remain, i.e., the kanji are UNKNOWN in preview and tag cloud but fine if a tag is selected (blindly ! ) and fine in Edit mode for a note whose kanji are useless empty rectangles !

And this is not how "portable" apps work - this is a portable version of RedNotebook and a PORTABLE app leaves no trace when the USB stck is removed ! But we are syaing to run this, set a WINDOWS env var !??!

If running the portable apps version using the Portables apps Platform just set the platform default language and then Rednotebook will use the Platforms default language not hte host computers.
