Version 1.8 not available in Ubuntu

Asked by Lieven Hanssen on 2011-09-12

Hi,

through a video on YouTube from Infinitely Galactic I found this application and I have used it regularly ever since. I added the stable PPA to the software sources in the software centre, but it is only version number 1.6 and not 1.8. In Windows I am able to download version 1.8, but in Ubuntu I don't get past version 1.6, why is this?

Thanks for the help.

Lieven

PPA's are personal repositories, so, in example, RNB stable repository is maintained and updated by one man - and that man is not the program developer. =)

There is another good repository you can use for installing RedNotebook: GetDeb (getdeb.net). It's basically a single huge PPA for a lot of Linux programs, including RedNotebook.
I guess the GetDeb maintainer likes our program a lot too, because each new RNB version appears there no less than a week after its announcement. =)

I recommend you to add GetDeb as an other repository: usually it is updated much faster than PowdarrMonkey's PPA. All the instructions can be found on that site.

Can you help with this problem?
