Batch processing via command line?

Asked by Peter Keyzers

Hi,

I have a setup where I synchronise photos and media from several devices onto a central headless Debian server, primarily for backup purposes. I currently use an Ubuntu VM on my local PC to merge all media from the different devices into a single timeline, so we're merging the photos from all members of the family into chronological order.

Is there a way to perform the merging that I'd normally do from a RPD UI on a command line on a Debian box? The instructions don't really hint at how to do it.

Thanks (from another Vic Uni CS student who was starting out when you were finishing in 94 :-) ),

Peter.

Rapid Photo Downloader will not run without a GUI. If you need a command line only solution, then you'll need a script that calls tools like Exiv2 and ExifTool. Sorry about that.

Can you help with this problem?
