Adding job codes

Asked by Mike Pyne

I'm using version 0.9.24. I wanted to add a job code to help identify a folder of images:

1. Click on 'Job Code' tab.
2. Click 'New'.
3. Enter a job code in the text box.
4. Click OK without checking the "Remember this choice" box.
5. The new job code isn't added.
6. Click 'New' again.
7. Enter a job code.
8. Click the "Remember this choice" box.
9. Click OK; the job code is added to the list.

Is this the expected behaviour? It isn't clear what the "Remember this choice" box is for. If it has to be checked for a job code to be added, perhaps it should default to checked?

The documentation around job code also doesn't explain that "Remember this choice" has to be checked, or explain what it is for.

In case it is required: Linux Mint 20 Ulyana", with kernel 5.4.0-48-generic-x86_64 and Cinnamon 4.6.7.

If you have selected files before you click New, the new job code will be applied to the selected files without the job code being saved for use on another set of future files.

I hope that clarifies the purpose. Let me know if you're still unsure about how it works.

So, the "remember this choice" box saves the job code to the list for use in the future?

Even so, it is not immediately apparent from the job code tab, or the new job code dialog, what will happen with the new job code.

That's right. Before a download, job codes are applied to selected files.

I will improve the documentation to make it clearer:
