Can not connect queXS with FreePBX 13

Asked by Harry Gaitanidis

I have a vanilla installation of quexs 1.16 and i am trying to connect to the FreePBX v13.
I can telnet and login to Asterisk AMI successfully from the queXS host, using admin and the appropriate secret.

Under "Monitor VoIP process" i get the below:
1268 Wed 30 May 04:51PM Disconnected
1267 Wed 30 May 04:50PM Reconnected
1266 Wed 30 May 04:50PM Disconnected
1265 Wed 30 May 04:39PM Reconnected

I have set an extension, download the .bat file and the voipclient.exe on my machine and ran the configuration.
queXS still states that the extension is Offline.

Is there a detailed guide on how to complete integration with Asterisk, anywhere on the internet? I have searched and found bits and pieces.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Harry,

It seems like you have connected queXS with FreePBX.

Now you need to tell queXS what your extensions in FreePBX are, including the type prefix, eg:

SIP/1000
SIP/1001

Then when your extensions are online, queXS should be able to initiate calls to them.

You do not necessarily need to use the provided VoIP client - any VoIP client will do.

Hi Adam,

Thank you for the quick reply.
I am trying to connect to our production FreePBX we have on the cloud. I am always connected to the PBX with my extension, using the VoIP Client "LinPhone"

I have set my extension on queXS ans assigned it to an operator but it the extension shows as "Offline" on queXS, under Operator Management.

When i login as the operator, i can not initiate any calls as i need to press "VoIP Off" and when i do, i get the voipclient download.

I am 100% sure that my extension is connected to the PBX as i am using it daily. Is there anything i am forgetting to do?

Thank you.

Make sure the "start and monitor voip" process is running.

Also you will need to make sure on the freePBX end that the Asterisk manager.conf file is giving sufficient permissions. See here for details: https://quexs.acspri.org.au/installation-manual

Also confirm that the extension you entered in to queXS exactly matches that on the freePBX end.

eg if it is a SIP extension number 2000, it should be entered as:

SIP/2000

in to queXS.
