could not get qid (and installation)

Asked by Alberto

Hello,

First of all, I have to say that this tool seems to be wonderful (even if I haven't been able to get it working yet), so thank you for making it available.

I am trying to use queXF. I have spend a couple of days trying to install it first in ubuntu (I usually use ubuntu in my desktop, but I was unable to install all the staff needed following the link) and then, I used the "Easy windows" package, which seems to be working.

I made a survey using limesurvey and, similarly to what is mentioned in this other question ( https://answers.launchpad.net/quexf/+question/242830 ) everything seems to go all right until I try to import filled in forms, moment at which I get the error: could not get qid.

I have been looking around and it seems that the problem could be related to the fact that the windows package "quexf-1.12.2-xampp" comes with a rather old version of quexf. So, my questions are:

1. Is there perhaps a more updated "Windows easy versions"?

2. If not, regarding this error of "could not get qid". Do you think it is due to the quexf version in quexf-1-12.2-xampp? If so, Can I simply change the quexf folder in 'forbidden' for the last version of quexf (or any other version that will work)? Or will this raise many other incompatibilities? If not, could you tell me how could I try to fix the error in the current version?

3. Another option would be installing the last versions, but apart from this 'easy windows install', is there another updated guide that somebody who is not very savy in these things (like me) can follow to install everything?

Thank you very much in advance,

Hi Alberto,

I have written a short guide to get queXF running on Windows or Mac using Docker Toolbox. This will install the latest version.

Please see here:

https://quexf.acspri.org.au/quexf-windows-installation-using-docker-toolbox

And see how you go.

Kind Regards,
