qpdfview settings bottom cut off in KDE

Asked by monkeybrain2012

Hi,

I installed qpdfview 0.4.18.99-2017-64 from the ppa on Kubuntu20.04. The bottom of the settings window is cut off and I don't seem to have a way to adjust the window to make it show, I can adjust its width but not the height so the bottom is always cut off.

Since the bottom is missing the "ok" "cancel" tabs are not visible and I have no way to change the default settings and save it except to copy qdfview.conf from another machine running Ubuntu 20.04.

Please advise, thanks.

Hello monkeybrain2012,

a window that is larger than the available screen size can still be moved so that its bottom half or top half are visible, most often is done by holding the Meta/Alt keyboard modifier and clicking anywhere on the window to drag it around, at least that is the default with KDE's kwin window manager. This way you access all of the settings dialog even at a small screen resolution by "scrolling" the window instead of its content.

Best regards,
Adam

Hi, yes, I tried that already. I can drag it around but only down and not up (so more in the bottom get hidden) and I can modify its width but not its height.

Hello again,

if you hold Alt and "grab" the window somewhere at the bottom, you should be able to push it upwards. I just tried it using KDE's kwin and it seems to work as expected. (Grabbing it at the title bar won't work of course.)

Best regards,
Adam

Hi, it works! Thank you very much! I haven't really used KDE before, little things trip me up.
