Always use an external font

Asked by Eduard Bürki

When I disable anti-aliasing in qpdfview, most fonts look bad.

Is there a way, to configer qpdfview in a way, that it uses always automatically external fonts (for example Arial), instead of those who are embedded in the PDF?

Thank you.

Hello Eduard,

If I remember correctly, Poppler relies on font-config for font selection eventually on this can be externally configured as described for example here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Font_configuration

Admittedly, I do not know if this will override embedded fonts and honestly speaking I doubt it, but I also do not remember any knobs to change this in the Poppler API we use for PDF rendering.

Best regards,
Adam
