trim only horizontal/vertical margins

Is it possible to enable margin trimming (and/or page decoration) only in the selected direction, .i.e., only to trim only horizontal or vertical margins? If not, could you implement such a feature?
What I would like to get is a view, in which left and right margins are trimmed (and zoom is set to fit-width), but pages are still well separated vertically.

Hello Jan,

selectively trimming only horizontal or vertical margins is currently not implemented. It should be straight-forward to do as both trimming processes are pretty much completely independent, but I do fear that the increased UI complexity might not be worth the payoff.

Another thing you could try is to use the trim margins function as-is, but also increase the page distance in the graphics settings (even though that also applies vertically and horizontally).
