Outline dock when starting

Asked by cfcamino

Hi Adam,

thank you and congratulations for this great program. I am a big fan of it!

My question is: Is there some possibility of telling qpdfview which docks it should show at startup? Some weeks ago it started showing the outline everytime I open a pdf file and I would like to start the program without any dock.

Thank you very much.

Best
Carlos

Hello,

the visibility of tool bars and docks should be automatically saved upon closing the main window, at least in current versions, i.e. qpdfview will start with whatever docks visible that were visible the last time qpdfview was closed correctly.

The only reason I can imagine why this would not happen is if the program is never closed correctly, so that the UI state can never be successfully saved to disk. You could starting, configuring your tabs and closing once to make sure these events happen. If this does not help, please try running qpdfview in a terminal window to see if any error messages are logged, i.e. the settings files cannot be written or something similar.

Best regards, Adam.

The settings files belonged to root for some reason...
