how to scroll continuously while zoomed-in in presentation mode

Asked by Xin

I would like to read a pdf full-screen in qpdfview, while scrolling up and down with the arrow keys as one would do in continuous mode. In Foxit, this can be achieved by using Cntl+3 in full-screen mode, then scrolling up and down with the arrow keys.

However, once I enter presentation mode and zoom-in, the arrow keys function as page up/page down keys. Scrolling with the touchpad only works till the end of the page.

Hello Xin,

as the name suggests, the presentation mode is not really intended for reading but for presentations. You probably want to use the fullscreen mode available in the view menu. By default this means that tool bars and the menu bar are still visible but they can be manually disabled using keyboard shortcuts or automatically toggled whenever fullscreen mode is entered resp. left if the "Toggle tool and menu bars with fullscreen" setting is enabled. In fullscreen mode, everything else works as it always does including scrolling using your preferred keyboard bindings and continuous mode.

Best regards, Adam.
