links don't work

Asked by monkeybrain2012

Hi,

It seems that all the links in pdf documents don't work with qpdfview. These included links to external urls (open URLs already checked in settings) as well as links to other parts of the document. When clicked or tab nothing happen. All these work in evince.

OS is Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit, qpdfview is installed from https://launchpad.net/~adamreichold/+archive/ubuntu/qpdfview-dailydeb

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Hello,

I do not see anything obvious why links should not work, especially the internal ones, but it is hard to tell without some document to reproduce this. Does it affect all documents or just some specific files? Can you post one of the affected document files somewhere where I can access them? Thanks.

Best regards, Adam.

Hi, it seems to affect all documents.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/2z2o7oi8170t5aj/jQuantum.pdf?dl=0

All the internal links in the document work in evince but none work in qpdfview. There are external links (urls) in the bibliography which again work in evince but not qpdfview.

Here is another one

Thanks.

Hello again,

the internal as well as external links in those documents do work fine here (qpdfview trunk built against Qt5 running Arch Linux), so I guess it is some integration issue that prevents this from working on your end. Hence I guess someone needs to find the time to debug this in a similar environment.

Can you please create a related bug report for this collecting as indicated above, the distribution, package source and the information from qpdfview's about dialog. Thank you.

Best regards, Adam.

Hi,

Do you need to install some qt5 stuffs for it to work? It appears that qt5 mess up some applications such as vlc so my system is mostly qt4.

I just discovered that links work for most documents with the old version of qdfview in Ubuntu's repo (0.4.14) (except for the second example with sage, evince works) But djvu documents don't open because of https://bugs.launchpad.net/qpdfview/+bug/1515018

Marking the question as solved since we will track this as the bug that it probably is.
