Maximal zoom factor.

Asked by Benjamin Eltzner

Hi, I would like to forward thanks and a question/request from the debian bug tracker:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=739554#44
the question being: "I seem to be unable to zoom beyond 1000 %. Is this intentional? I could not find any explanation about this in the man page."
I think, this upper bound should be mentioned in the documentation (not the man page, but I assume that was meant anyway). What do you think?

Hello Benjamin,

thanks for forwarding this! As you know the zoom limit is intentional and I agree that it should be documented. However, I would find the online help a more suiting place as the manual page is usually reserved for command-line interaction and behind-the-scenes information.

Also, since we now support tiled-rendering, the practical limits to scaling the pages are much more relaxed (I'd assume it is limited by how many tiles per page we are able to handling using the simplistic list-based data strcutures to do so.). So we might also increase the limit somewhat. What do you think?

Best regards, Adam.

Hi Adam, thanks for your answer. I think it would be good to document
the limit in the help.html so I don't forget it again :-) and I like the
idea of a more lenient approach when tiled rendering is activated.

Hello Benjamin,

both changes should be part of trunk revision 1759, so the Debian bug can be closed when the next release is imported.

Best regards, Adam.

Can you help with this problem?
