feature request: exit upon closing the last tab

Asked by Rouben Rostamian

By default, Ctrl-W closes a tab/document and Ctrl-Q quits qpdfview.

However, when viewing a single document (that is, no tabs), I would find it natural if Ctrl-W behaved like Ctrl-Q, that is, hitting Ctrl-W on the last (or the only) document, would quit qpdfview.

I looked around but did not find a way to configure qpdfview to do that. Is there a chance that such a feature may be added (possibly as a configuration option) to qpdfview?

I am using version 0.4.7 on Xubuntu.

Hello Rouben,

since this should be simple to implement without fear of regression in other functions and we already have a large number of interface settings, I just added a "Exit after last tab" setting to the interface section of the settings dialog. Please try out the latest dailydebs from [1] after they have been rebuilt for trunk revision 1755. Thanks!

Best regards, Adam.

Hello Adam, thank you for your immediate response. The "Exit after last tab" setting provides exactly what I was looking for.

With best regards,

Rouben

A very minor comment:

In the help page it says:

[Exit after last tab] If enabled, the application exits after the last tab was closed.

I would change that "was" to "is".

Agreed, I changed the help text as suggested...
