Compliments and Full-screen View Button

Asked by mark noman

Just finished looking for a good pdf viewer to use outside KDE. Been using Evince but without gnome it can't remember its state between uses - same with zathura. epdfview was OK but had a number of rendering problems. Stumbled across qpdfview. Excellent!

I couldn't find an entry for qpdfview on qt-apps.org so maybe you could post there and get some more recognition for it.

My request is for a full-screen view button on the view toolbar. I'm just lazy.

Hello,

You can have that tool bar button but it will require your work: The tool bar buttons are configurable since version 0.3, but currently this is not exposed in the interface (version 0.3.2 will give you a simple text field in the settings dialog) so you have to edit the configuration file, usually "~/.config/qpdfview/qpdfview.conf" by hand.

Details which buttons can be added to which tool bar can be found in the online help (main menu / help / contents) in the section "Configuration file". So if you just wanted to add a fullscreen button and keep the default ones, you would append the line "viewToolBar=scaleFactor, zoomIn,zoomOut,fullscreen" somewhere below the section header "[mainWindow]".

As I said, this will be exposed at least as a textual control in the settings dialog for next version. (Along with some other stuff. All of it is already available in the development version.)

Concerning "qt-apps.org", I try to concentrate my efforts on development and Launchpad interaction. But maybe someone else is willing to create and maintain an entry there. This could be discussed on the mailing list of the "qpdfview" Launchpad team.

If would be very nice if you create an entry on "qt-apps.org" an entry there linking to this Launchpad page. Of course, this would be most helpful if actively maintain it but that's your choice to make. Thanks in any case.

Sorry for the scrambled answer, I was in a hurry. It should have read:

If would be very nice if you create an entry on "qt-apps.org" linking to this Launchpad page. Of course, this would be most helpful if you actively maintain it in the future but that's your choice to make. Thanks in any case.

Done. The entry is at http://qt-apps.org/content/show.php/qpdfview?content=152086

I'm regularly on opendesktop.org so will keep the entry up-to-date.

Thanks! (I added you to the CONTRIBUTORS file shipped with the source.) Hopefully nobody notices that the screenshot is from an yet unreleased version or we will have to finish version 0.3.2 rather soon. :-)

If you need any information, I'll be as helpful as possible. (If there is anything more involved to discuss, please consider using the mailing list.) Well, thanks again.
