Change mouse speed to slow

Hi,
My kids aged 3 and 4 are interested in Qimo but are getting a bit frustrated by the mouse. IMHO for these new young first time computer users the mouse is way to sensitive. It then won't help if you create large cursors and/or icons/buttons, they can't manage to point to things on the screen. Of course there is a mouse property screen but that only allows you to set the speed from very sensitive to very very very sensitive, there seems to be no way to make things go slow.

I tried a quick google search but that mostly turns up references to mouse speed under X and so on so it seems there is no easy, documented way to make it go slow.
