updated Qimo, unable to get GUI up

Asked by jon steele

I am relatively new to Linux, and decided to build a box for kids. I installed the newest Qimo 2.0, then I updated it. Upon reboot i got the following...

no init found. try passing init= bootarg.

busybox v1.13.3 (ubuntu 1:1.13.3-1ubuntu11) built in shell (ash)
enter 'help' for a list of built in commands.

(initramfs)

any suggestions on what to do now? I would really like to get this back up and running.

I would hate to waste my time re-installing if the fix is only a few commands away.

Thank you

Jon

That means it's not able to load the system, I'm not sure what could have caused such a failure, but likely re-installing will be easier than trying to track it down.

Hmmm, shutting the thing off, and rebooting it like 5 times today, it finally booted up. I don't know what the issue is. I hope it doesn't come up again because it was a machine for someone else (father-in-law... so his grand-kids don't destroy his windows based machine once i re-install everything AGAIN)

I'm now building a Qimo machine for my own kid... ho I'm really hoping this doesn't come up again.

Thanks

Jon
