Is there how to blacklist a tracker?

Asked by André Chalella

We all know that The Pirate Bay won't ever reactivate its tracker. However, many torrents still include tracker.thepiratebay.org in their tracker list, and unfortunately this delays real downloading, because qBittorrent must wait for such trackers to fail before proceeding to real ones.

Is there how to blacklist trackers, so we could have qBittorrent skip TPB?

I guess the only way right now would be to define an ip filter.

Create an ipfilter.dat file with the line:
95.211.101.132-95.211.101.132

Then add it to qBittorrent through program preferences. This should do the trick.

Hmm, it's nice that there is a way. However, I'm curious as to why there isn't an easier UI for this task. Is creating a file really necessary?

Thanks Christophe Dumez, that solved my question.

Well, usually users want to add trackers and get more sources, not blacklist them.

As a consequence, I never thought of adding such a feature.

Once sure for sure, the only way I have internally (since trackers are actually contacted by libtorrent) is the ip filter.
I could provide an easier way for the user though but I'm not sure it is that useful.

Sorry, I was really referring to the lack of a better UI *for the IP filter* (ie having to manually create a file, as opposed to adding hosts to a list widget), not for blacklisting as a whole. I understand your reasoning for the latter.

Nowadays I'm sure a way to skip the TPB tracker would be a nice feature. Perhaps just an option somewhere in preferences, as opposed to a full-fledged blacklisting UI?
