I/O Error

Asked by Zach Appling

Have been trying to download a rather large torrent file (28GiB) and I keep getting an error bubble popping up in the notification area. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. The error looks like this:

I/O Error
An I/O error occurred for torrent XXYYZZ
Reason: XXYYZZ file ("HDD location and file name") error: Invalid access to memory location

I tried changing the location of both the incomplete files and the final destination to make sure space was not an issue. Also, I have 3GiB of RAM installed and and the torrent's problem shows up before it has even gotten to 1GiB so I know memory is not the issue. Not real sure as to what could be causing this.

Known issue on Windows with qBT v2.8.x. This issue should be fixed now but our Windows packagers are on vacation... In the meantime, I suggest reverting to v2.7.x.

Can you help with this problem?
