IJust installed new version of Q-bitorrent and got a message about python

Asked by Chris Savoy

Hi there, I just installed the latest version of Q-bitorrent, and when I tried to use the search function after I installed the program,
I got a message that I do not have " Python installed" ( I am on windows 7 home premium 64 bit )

All I know about python is that it is a computer language - that is it, - that is the full extent of my knowledge about python.

Where do I get and how do I install for my system? ( win 7 )

Is it safe for me to do this ? - I mean it won't cause problems on my new computer will it ? I am not a programer, or a computer wiz...
I just wanted to try your file sharing program.

- Thanks

When qBittorrent detects that Python interpreter is missing, it asks the user if he wants to install it. If you click yes, qBittorrent should download and install the python interpreter on its own, and the search engine will work straight away.

What is the problem? Doesn't qBittorrent install Python properly? Or you clicked "No" in case it is not safe?

qBittorrent downloads and installs Python 2.6 from the official Python web site, so it is safe. Regarding my search engine plugins written in Python, I guess that if you trust me enough to run my C++ code (qBittorrent), I don't see why you would not trust my python code :)

You can also install python manually but please install v2.6 (more recent versions are available but there are not tested and it is likely they won't work).

Can you help with this problem?
