http proxy in qbittorent

Asked by Carl W. Wilson

If I choose an http proxy for 'peer communications" and for "http communications", does qbittorent use socks at all?
Or just the http addresses/ports I put in there?
All other options (DHT, upnp, etc) are already off.

Was just wondering if using this option kills the socks portion of the torrent being downloaded/uploaded

If you set an http_proxy for both connections, then qBittorrent will not use socks.
You will probably get a better speed if you use a socks proxy for peer connections.

What do you mean by the "socks portion of the torrent"? Socks is a protocol, not part of the torrent.

Was a misstatement on my part, I meant the socks protocol will not be used.

Thank you for your quick reply
