Access Web UI from iPod Touch

Asked by Josh Fox

I am trying to access the Web UI through my iPod Touch, but it won't let me get past the login. The Web UI is working normal from all of the computers at my disposal in every browser on them. Has this been accomplished or is it a lost cause with mobile Safari?

Have you tried with a non-mobile version of safari?

I have not tested safari with the Web UI. If you have qBittorrent enabled with debug output, it should print useful information in the terminal when the browser fails authentication.

There is also an unreleased fix in SVN that is related (except it is for Konqueror browser). It may fix the Safari problem too.

I just installed Safari 4 on a Windows XP machine and it seems to have the same problem. When should 2.1.6 be available in the PPA for 9.10?

Oh... I knew I forgot something.. :) Let me just upload it to the PPA.

Well, 2.1.6 from the PPA gave me access, but the rendering is wrong. To the point of where it's unusable. I have screenshots of both...

Safari: http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/4417/safariscreenshot.jpg

While I was at it, I checked in Konqueror, which I had forgotten about before, and it doesn't seem to work properly either...

Does this information help any?

Is it an authentication problem or is it just a rendering problem? What was the last version of qBittorrent working properly?

I have just tested with google chrome and it is both logging in and rendering OK.

Google chrome uses the same rendering engine (webkit) as Safari. Unfortunately, Safari is not available for Linux, I'll try to install it on Windows and test it (I don't have any Mac OS box).

I have tested Safari on Windows and there was indeed both an authentication problem and a Javascript one.
I have committed patches to SVN which seem to work here.

It would be nice if you could test:
svn co https://qbittorrent.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/qbittorrent/trunk qbittorrent

I am having partition problems, but should have it straightened out soon, so I will be trying the SVN first thing after. If it's not fixed by tomorrow, I'll do a Wubi install of Kubuntu on another computer and test it from my iPod. However, I was able to try it with 2.2.0 RC2 and authentication worked for the most part, but nothing was rendering properly. At one point, I got the menus to load properly, but nothing seemed to work when selected. After a successful login and leaving, another try would come up stating that my IP was banned for too many failed login attempts causing me to restart the Web UI.

Can't login on Portable Chrome for Windows, Firefox ok.

On the iPhone the same problem as http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/899/iptscreenshot.jpg with the latest version from repo.

When will a fixed version be on the repo, ideally?

Can you help with this problem?
