Is python-mode designed to work with Xemacs?

When attempting to load python-mode under xemacs 21.5 ginger, I get an error regarding loading of rx.el. Is this available in later versions? Should I upgrade my xemacs? Or is python-mode not supposed to work under xemacs?

Please ask at <email address hidden>. AFAIK rx was ported. We are ready to support XEmacs within a reasonable effort. However can't provide a whole library like rx.
