Just tried python-mode trunk. In python-shell, tab-completion gives:

Debugger entered--Lisp error: (wrong-type-argument stringp nil)
  format(nil "coef_fr" "coef_fr")
  ipython-complete()
  call-interactively(ipython-complete nil nil)
