Which PyS60: launchpad or maemo?

Asked by Ivan Uemlianin

Dear All

I dabbled in PyS60 development a few years ago and now I'm getting back into it. To be on the safe side I'm unistalling and reinstalling everything.

There now seem to be two PyS60 distributions: this "Community Edition" on launchpad, and a pys60 project on the Maemo garage [1]. The version numbers are different, so is the lanchpad 1.8.1211 "stable" and the maemo 1.9.7 "development", or are the two projects forks, or unrelated? And in any case, which should I install on my phone, and/or into the emulator on my desktop?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I've been unable to find out any other way.

Best wishes

Ivan

hi,

The projects are unrelated. PyS60 in Maemo garage is maintained by Nokia.

PyS60 community edition should be able to coexist with vanilla PyS60.

If you are beginner and do not see point in PyS60 Community Edition, install Nokia one.
